A Common Man... A Very Common Man

A common person for sure, he lives a politician's life of deception and while distorting his public image promising anything for truly common people's votes.

John Edwards shovels dirt in front of a poor black family's home for the cameras. He claims to be a man of the common folk.
John Edwards' home in South Carolina sits on 102 secluded acres and is surrounded by trees and no-trespassing signs. The main house contains 28,000-square-feet.
The main house has a value of $4.3 million. The estate is unfinished, yet is already about $1 million more expensive than any other house in the county according to local tax records. Its land alone is worth about $1.1 million.
The main house has five bedrooms and six-and-a-half baths. It has a covered walkway that leads to a bright red addition known as "The Barn". The Barn includes complete and separate living facilities and includes a handball court, an indoor pool and an indoor basketball court with a stage. The Edwards family has cleared an area nearby to build a soccer field.
Edwards purchased the land in 2004, during his vice presidential campaign. He recently sold his mansion in Washington's Georgetown neighborhood for $5.2 million.
A neighbor, Monty Johnson, whose property sits directly across from the Edwards tract, recently posted a "Go Rudy Giuliani 2008" sign only 100 feet from Edwards' driveway.
Monty Johnson says, "The home is a monster. It's way over the top... There's no way that a normal family could ever need a house like that. It's only going to hurt him. I don't think he's going to be able to sell his story that he's for the poor people".
